The Israeli Method: Reality-Based Training
Mako Defense courses are far more than typical pistol or carbine courses. The Israeli Method is a simple, comprehensive system that prepares students to effectively defend against and instantly neutralize violent threats. Students gain a high level of skill and confidence with their weapons, and also learn simple, effective Krav Maga techniques for unarmed defense against armed or stronger opponents.

The Israeli Method is designed to be as useful for civilians or off-duty personnel shopping in a mall as it is for special ops soldiers operating behind enemy lines.

Multi-Tier Training
Mako Defense courses are structured to provide training at multiple skill levels. Courses range from basic self-defense pistol shooting courses to top-level couses training military, law enfocement, and security specialists in world class fighting skills. Courses for each skill level take place at training locations around the U.S., while some tier one courses are taught at a state-of-the-art training facility in Israel.

Concealed Carry

Basic and advanced pistol courses are ideal for citizens who carry concealed pistols for self-defense. The courses also incorporate unarmed defense methods for times when a pistol cannot be carried or cannot be safely drawn.  Among the most practical CCW self-defense courses available in the US, Mako Defense pistol courses include CCW certification for certain states.

Home Defense

Security Training

Advanced Mako Defense courses are available to give the security professional a skillset that was refined in Israel and employed by top security agencies aroung the world. Some of our instructors draw from their years of experience in the Israeli Secret Service to teach proven security techniques. Mako Defense courses meet armed security certification requirements for certain states.

Law Enforcement

Our lead instructors were members of the most elite Israeli police counter-terror and hostage rescue team, which recruits exclusively from the experienced soldiers of top Israeli Special Forces units. This counter-terror unit set records for the highest scores ever achieved when it won the U.S. Urban Shield counter-terror competition, beating all US teams and several foreign teams. Other instructors have decades of experience as airport and transportation security operatives, or have been assigned to guard US Presidents, international leaders, and Israeli Prime Ministers.

The Israeli method is especially valuable for law enforcement, because of the emphasis on a method that can be used almost as effectivley by an individual officer as it is by a team or larger unit. Mako Defense law enforcment training is adapted to individual units' equipment and SOPs.

Military

There have been few times when our soldiers have had a greater need for focused training to prepare them for the task at hand. The U.S. military has stepped up to the challange and the average soldier is recieving some of the best training our soldiers have ever recieved.
